Not only have Disney managed to bring the ambience of the Caribbean to Florida, they’ve managed to bring the beaches too! This tropical lakeside paradise, is split into 6 different islands, each with its own swimming pool and stretch of white sandy beach. Whilst mums and dads laze the day away in a hammock, the kids can climb, slide and play to their hearts content at Parrot Cay, a full acre of fun in the middle of Barefoot Bay with water play galore, nature trails and colourful birds to admire. There’s also the Marina with its pontoon and sailboats for hire as well as plenty of landscaped paths to enjoy. Colonial-style buildings really do set the scene with swaying palm trees, warm breezes and the distant sound of steel drums adding to that laid-back vibe. Dine at Shutters during the evening if sophisticated fare appeals or head to the food court for delicious dishes in double quick time.
