What type of hotel?

Travel City Direct has bargained hard to get you the best deal, so you'll be amazed at the prices. Here are some pointers to help you decide.

Because the USA does not have recognised star ratings, we have devised our own categories. These are–Standard, Standard Plus, Superior, Deluxe and Prestige. There are also our extra-value Hi-5 properties, where Travel City Direct guests can enjoy exclusive benefits. These can include extras such as free Continental breakfast, Express Check-in, welcome drinks, a free pizza or popcorn with a hired movie, drinks vouchers, even a daily newspaper and, at one venue, Happy Hour every day!

How to choose

All hotels have swimming pools and each room sleeps up to four people (some hotels offer rollaway beds, payable locally). If you really just need a base with no frills, then Standard or Standard Plus are good choices, so you can save your pennies for the parks, entertainment and shopping. A very popular family choice are the Superior hotels, which may have on-site facilities. Many of the Deluxe properties have restaurants, play areas and may even be themed. For pure luxury and pampering, Prestige is the way to go!

Which location?

In Orlando, choose from International Drive at the heart of the action, Lake Buena Vista is close to the theme parks, Kissimmee is not only close to Walt Disney World but is also close to the ‘natural' Florida. You can also stay at one of the themed hotels on site at Universal Orlando or Walt Disney World. Stay a week or add a ‘taster' for a few days to your itinerary.

Why not stay in one of our many full service hotels in the Orlando area. There is a fantastic choice of hotels that range from standard to prestige, from on-site at Walt Disney World Resort & Universal Orlando to our own recommended Hi5 hotel selection, International Drive, Kissimmee, Lake Buena Vista or alternative Florida. Guests will receive the extra benefits of staying at a hotel, with some offering free breakfast or special kids eat free offers, and complimentary scheduled transportation to Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando and SeaWorld. Other benefits will include, on-site restaurant, bar/lounge, room service and daily maid service.

Two centre stays

The perfect antidote to a week at the parks is a week on the coast and whether you prefer the white sand beaches of the Gulf Coast or the rolling waves of the Atlantic coast, there are some fabulous hotels to choose from.

Villas with private pools

An increasingly popular choice for those preferring a self catering style of holiday at unbeatable value, a private villa is the perfect base for exploring Orlando and beyond to Florida's beautiful coasts. Whether you're travelling as a family or a group of friends, a villa holiday will give you the freedom to dine out or to cook at home as you wish, the exclusivity of your own pool will deliver a level of privacy that's hard to match elsewhere.

Our superb villa selection provides you with all the comforts of home, combining the convenience of a fully equipped kitchen and dining area with the sheer luxury of your own private splash pool; perfect for kicking back and unwinding after a hectic day at the theme parks!

Travel City Direct villas are located in the residential areas of Orlando and are guaranteed within a 20 minute drive of Walt Disney World Resort. You'll find shops, restaurants and grocery stores all just a short drive away. Choose from 3, 4, 5 and 6-bedroom villas, all furnished to good standards and sleeping from 1 to 12 persons comfortably. A limited number of 7-bedroom homes are also available on request, that can sleep up to 14 people.

Platinum homes - platinum

New for 2008, our Orlando area 4, 5 and 6-bedroom Platinum homes, and Platinum resort homes are executive homes that have extra benefits that are exclusive to Travel City Direct in the UK market. All homes will be located within a 20 minute drive of Walt Disney World Resort and are all furnished to very high standards, with an upgraded furniture package.

Standard Villas With Private Pool

All Standard Villas will be located in some of Orlando's most popular villa communities, all within 20 minutes drive of Walt Disney World Resort.

Executive Villas With Private Pool

Well worth the small additional upgrade cost, Executive Villas are tastefully furnished to a slightly higher specification and will be located within a 20 minute drive of Walt Disney World Resort. Towels and bed linen will be supplied, however cots, rollaway beds and highchairs must be requested and paid for at the time of booking. Florida enjoys year-round sunshine, however pools will not be heated. If a heated pool is required, this must be requested at the time of booking. We strongly recommend pool heating during the months of October to April. Please note that on arrival guests are required to leave a deposit of $300 security deposit against a major credit card.

Apartments And Suites

Travel City Direct features a wide selection of great quality self catering accommodation ranging from Standard to Prestige all of which are located within driving distance of the major theme parks. Most of these properties operate as resort hotels with full-service amenities such as spacious heated pools, sundecks, dining, bars and perhaps even dedicated children's facilities. Many are conveniently located with local shops and restaurants close to hand and all within driving distance of the major theme parks, some even offering a shuttle service.

Travel City Direct suites and apartments will generally sleep up to 4 adults and 2 young children in comfort, usually in an open plan design featuring 2 queen-size beds and a double sofa bed in the lounge area. All will have en-suite bathroom plus a kitchen area equipped with microwave, oven and hob, fridge/freezer and coffee maker.

Townhouses

Townhouses are an ideal choice for larger groups and families offering a little more space and the privacy of separate bedroom accommodation. Most townhouses are located within gated communities or resorts in the Orlando area, close to Walt Disney World Resort and the other major theme parks. They offer their own private patio or terrace and share access to the communal pool and other resort facilities on offer. Furnished in similar style to the private villas, townhouses offer a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and further bedrooms with shared bathroom(s), according to property size. A fully equipped kitchen provides fridge/freezer, conventional oven and hob, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, iron and ironing board and the lounge/dining area has TV, table and chairs.
